What this is
The Elizabeth Holmes Case Archive is a searchable edition of the federal criminal trial record in United States of America v. Elizabeth A. Holmes, No. 5:18-cr-00258-EJD. It covers jury selection on August 31, 2021 through the verdict proceedings on January 3, 2022.
The archive accounts for 51 source court days: 50 available court-reporter volumes and one sealed, unavailable volume. The public text is organized into 124 transcript pages, 363 proceedings, and 90,999 transcript lines.
Primary source
Transcript text comes from the 50 federal court-reporter PDFs filed on January 18, 2022 as ECF documents 1256 through 1306, with public document 1303 absent. The files contain native searchable text, so this archive did not use OCR or speech recognition to create the transcript.
The source PDFs are not republished here. The archive preserves reporter page and line references so a reader can check important passages against the official record. Numbered transcript-row links are stable archive line anchors; hovering or focusing one shows its retained reporter page and line.
The public federal docket can be reviewed through RECAP and CourtListener (opens in a new tab).
Day 50 corresponds to a 23-minute in-camera hearing held on December 28, 2021. Its transcript was sealed and is absent from the public ECF and reporter-volume sequence. The archive explains that gap on the Day 50 route and does not infer or reconstruct proceedings or text.
Structure and supporting material
The filed transcript is reorganized into source court days, witness examinations, procedural proceedings, speakers, and stable archive line anchors. Page-spanning sentences may be joined for readability while source citations remain attached to each archive line.
Day summaries, proceeding summaries, people profiles, location descriptions, evidence entries, and selected moments help readers navigate the record. They are supplementary editorial material, not the official transcript, and they do not decide guilt, credibility, or legal merit.
Accuracy and corrections
- The HTML edition may contain extraction, structuring, attribution, linking, or editorial errors.
- The public source contains sealed ranges and reporter-owned corrections or imperfections.
- The timeline identifies the court, agency, or docket source supporting each legal development.
